It is my favorite neighborhood. It is where I shop for food, for clothes, go to the movies and eat out. By having everything and anything around the corner I confess I am becoming rather lazy and hardly venturing out of this quartier. Here are some of my fave spots:

The best restaurant: Le Comptoir du Relais. If you can find a table grab it. It is worth the wait on the line that forms outside. Chef Yves Camdeborde has created what is called bistronomie and his plates are delectable and inventive. One of the winners in my opinion is radishes with chocolate sauce. Try it: it is unexpected and gives another meaning to radishes.

Runner up: Kitchen Galerie. You should make reservations and if they have duck on the menu go for it!

People watching: Germain is the place for the young and fashionable crowd. The food happens to be delicious and they have the best mashed potatoes, if you are not watching your calories.

Pastry shop and Boulangerie: Gerard Hulot

Brioche: Brioche Doree by Guy Savoy. You must go in and try. They are delicious!

Ice cream: Amorino
